Catuaba bark supplement information
The scientific name for ctuaba is Erythroxylum catuaba). Other common names for catuaba are Chuchuhuasha, Tatuaba, Pau de Reposta, and Caramuru. Catuaba research studies are found with Erythroxylum vacciniifolium and Anemopaegma mirandum. We don't know whether they are referring to the same catuaba plant.

Catuaba supplement questions
Q. Can a catuaba pill be taken together with a muira puama pill? Can a man and woman use catuaba?
   A. Yes, but we suggest you first learn how your body responds to catuaba supplement alone for a week, then muira puama supplement alone for a week, and once you have a good idea how each herb makes you feel, then you can combine them. Catuaba pills can be used by both men and women.

Q. Which of these herbs are more potent, catuaba bark, tongkat ali, tribulus terrestris or yohimbe?
   A. Much depends on the dosage used and the extract potency. Generally tongkat ali is quite potent, and so is yohimbe. Tribulus terrestris and catuaba are similar. But keep in mind that they each work in different ways. Some people respond better to one herb than another. We prefer combination formulas that take advantage of the benefits of each herb. Q. Should catuaba supplement be cycled, in other words should a person take time off from using catuaba herb and not use it continuously?
   A. Our advice with all sexual herbs, including catuaba bark supplemetnt, is to take breaks from use. The frequency and length of these breaks are not set in stone but on average a minimum break of two days a week and one week off a month is suggested.

Q. I read on a website selling a supplement to enlarge the penis that catuaba helps with penis enlargement, is this true?
   A. There is no evidence that catuaba herb helps the penis to grow larger. It could help improve blood flow but it will not make the penis larger than it can be anatomically under ideal stimulation.

Q. For sexual enhancement purposes, how do I know which sexual formula or herb will work best before I buy a sex improving product?
   A. There are quite a number of herbs that improve sexuality, including catuaba, muira puama, horny goat weed, mucuna pruriens, tongkat ali, yohimbe, and others. It is not possible to predict which one of these aphrodisiac herbs will work for anyone. If you buy a sex improving product, try it for a week or two before moving on to another one.

Each person is different and therefore no specific dosages or schedules can be recommended except to take the least amount that works.

Fourteen commercial samples of the popular Brazilian aphrodisiac Catuaba specified as bark drugs of Anemopaegma, Erythroxylum and Trichilia species were examined for identity and purity. Only a minority of the examined Catuaba samples contained the crude drugs claimed on the labels. More than half of the products were adulterated with different crude drugs. The majority of the samples contained a bark originating from Trichilia catigua.
