Diet Rx diet pill contains: *
Green tea extract (Camellia sinensis, standardized to contain 50% polyphenols) - Studies show green tea extract results in an increase in fat oxidation and in energy expenditure (a measure of metabolism). Green tea contains various antioxidants, including EGCG. The benefits come from an interaction between caffeine and EGCG.
Spirulina (Spirulina platensis) is a green blue algae that is considered a superfood with a high protein content. Spirulina has antioxidants,
Ginger root (Zingiber officinales) - Ginger has compouns called gingerols which have a wide variety of beneficial actions in the body, including antioxidant activity.
Hoodia extract (Hoodia gordonii, 20 to 1 extract) Hoodia gordonii has a compound called P57 that works directly in the brain to help reduce appetite. For thousands of years the bushman of the Kalahari Desert in South Africa have been chewing on hoodia to stop hunger, while they were on hunts or journeys, where there was little of no food available to them.
Cinnamon root (Cinnamonum cassia) helps maintain healthy blood sugar levels.
Garcinia Cambogia CitriMax HCA-600 SXS (standardized to contain 60% hydroxycitric acid) Hydroxycitric acid is derived from the Malabar tamarind tropical fruit (Garcinia cambogia) native to India. Hydroxycitric acid has been found to inhibit mitochondrial citrate lyase, leading to decreased acetyl coenzyme A production and decreased fatty acid synthesis. CitriMax is a high quality trademark extract of garcinia cambogia.
Apple Cider vinegar is obtained from the fermentation of apple juice which leads to acetic acid.
Glucomannan konjac 4 to 1 extract - Glucomannan helps to satiate and provides good management of blood lipid and carbohydrate status along with providing fiber for optimal bowel movements.
Apple pectin is a fiber that helps maintain healthy cholesterol levels.
Grapefruit extract (Citrus paradise, 4 to 1 extract) - different grapefruit constituents influence intestinal and liver lipid transport as well as metabolism.
Banaba extract (standardized to contain 1% corosolic acid) helps with blood sugar and insulin level management. Fluctuations in blood sugar and insulin are related to appetite and food cravings, particularly for carbohydrates.
Psyllium husk is a fiber which absorbs water within the gut, causing increased satiety and lower caloric intake. Psyllium is also helpful in keeping healthy blood sugar and lipid levels.
Choline bitartrate is a nutrient that converts into acetylcholine. Choline increases the mobilization of fatty acids. Choline is needed for efficient fat metabolism.
Alpha lipoic acid is a very powerful antioxidant.
Bitter melon extract (Momordica charatia) helps with blood sugar control and increases lipid oxidation or fat burning.
Inositol combines with choline to assist in fat metabolism.

Carnitine or L-Carnitine is a main ingredient in many diet pills and supplements. L-Carnitine is found in enzyme complexes (carnitine acyltransferase, carnitine translocase, and carnitine acyltransferase II) that help transport long-chain fatty acids across into the mitochondria where fatty acids can be metabolized efficiently.
Pomegranate (standardized to contain 40% ellagic acid) is full of antioxidants that helps reduce damage to the inner lining of blood vessels.
Coleus forskohlii (standardized to contain 10% forskohlin) contains forskolin which increases Cyclic AMP thus influencing membrane transport proteins and increasing fat metabolism.
Acetyl-l Carnitine helps with mental alertness. This nutrient is also found in Mind Power Rx.
Fenugreek seed extract 4 to 1 (Trigonella foenum) helps with blood sugar control and reduces insulin resistance.
Guggul herb (standardized to contain 10 % guggulsterones) can help a sluggish thyroid gland and help the body to burn calories more efficiently. Guggul also helps manage cholesterol levels.
5-HTP helps with mood balance.
Inulin is from the chicory plant. Inulin is a prebiotic fiber that feeds the friendly bacterial flora and encourages proliferation over long periods of time.  It also improves mineral absorption, including magnesium and calcium. *

Chromium picolinate is a trace mineral that helps blood sugar metabolism. Each 2 capsules contain 20 micrograms which is 17 percent of the daily value.

Suggested use: One to four capsules a day. Start with one or two capsules at least 30 minutes before breakfast your first day and increase to 2, 3, or 4 capsules a day depending on how you respond. If you are sensitive to supplements, or over the age of 50, start with one capsule. If you are on medications, consult with your doctor. Most people do fine taking 2 capsules in the morning. Others prefer to take one capsule before breakfast and another before lunch, and sometimes another one in mid afternoon. A few people are very sensitive and only need one capsule a day.
If one or two capsules of this natural diet pill works for you, then there is no need to take more. Take Diet Rx capsules on an empty stomach, at least a half hour before breakfast or a meal. If you are using four capsules a day, take 2 before breakfast and 2 before lunch. Another option is to take 1 Diet Rx capsule before breakfast, one before lunch, and one in mid to late afternoon.

Diet Rx appetite suppressant pill questions
Q. I have diabetes type two. If I eat less will I need to reduce my dosage of insulin or blood sugar lowering medicines if I take a pharmaceutical or natural diet pill that reduces appetite? What about cholesterol medications and blood pressure medications?
   A. Perhaps. If you eat less, there is a good chance your blood sugar will not rise as much. Therefore, if you are on insulin or taking prescription medicines or natural supplements that lower blood sugar, your dosage may need to be adjusted. If you have diabetes, you should consult with your doctor before taking any diet pills. Your doctor may advise you to start with a low dose of these pills while you monitor your blood sugar. You may then gradually increase the dosage of the diet pills while you keep a close eye on your blood sugar level.
The same may apply to blood pressure and cholesterol. If you eat less, whether through sheer will power or through the aid of an appetite suppressant, it is possible that cholesterol levels would not rise as high and blood pressure may not rise as much. Thus, you need to have your doctor monitor you and guide you.

Q. Can I drink coffee if I am taking Diet Rx diet pills?
   A. Caffeine is known to enhance some of the effects of the ingredients in Diet Rx. However, we prefer that people limit their coffee use to two cups a day if taking 2 Diet Rx pills, and one cup a day if taking 3 or 4 Diet Rx pills.

Q. Is it okay to take 5 Diet Rx diet pills a day? I like the effects on 4 capsules but I was thinking 5 may even work better.
   A. We have not tested the use of 5 Diet Rx capsules. If your doctor approves, and you are young and very healthy with no medical problems, you could take 2 before breakfast, 2 before lunch, and one before dinner. We do suggest you take a good long walk to use up excess energy the pills provide and only take the 5 pills a day for no longer than a few days.

Q. Can I take Diet Rx if I am currently taking SSRI drugs such as Paxil, Zoloft, or Prozac?
   A. SSRI drugs include Prozac, Zoloft, Paxil, and several other antidepressants. You can take a capsule or two a day of Diet Rx if your doctor approves and your dosage of the SSRI drugs is reduced by a quarter or 50 percent. Some of the ingredients in Diet Rx have mood lifting and balancing properties, along with improving natural energy. We are concerned that side effects can occur when high dosages of drugs and natural herbs are combined. Always start with only one capsule of Diet Rx and have your doctor guide you. Do not exceed more than 2 Diet Rx capsules a day if you are taking antidepressant drugs. And, as we mentioned, we suggest the dosage of the drugs to be reduced according to the guidance of your health care provider.

Q. Can Diet Rx be taken the same day as Passion Rx, Mind Power Rx, Eyesight Rx, or MultiVit Rx?
   A. We recommend you first learn how each of these herbal formulas works for you by itself before combining them. And if you combine them, always use smaller amounts since their effects can be additive and cumulative.

Q. I have read through all the ingredients for Diet Rx.  I want to be sure that whatever is included that increases energy is nourishing rather than stimulating to an organ system. Your directions say to leave off taking these herbal diet pills for a few days each month which can imply that whatever organ ie perhaps the adrenals need recovery time. I really want to understand how your product works. I do not want something that is artificially creating “energy” while the long term effect is depleting.
   A. The combination of green tea, ginger, hoodia, cinnamon, garcinia cambogia, and some of the other herbs creates a very nice, natural energy. Our general guideline regarding practically every supplement is to take breaks from use a few days a month. This is our philosophy and other vitamin companies may have different viewpoints.

Q. I am currently prescribed a Rx diet pill by my doctor. Can I take this Rx diet pill (phentermine) along with a Diet Rx pill?
   A. We prefer people take one or the other, but not mix a Rx diet pill such as phentermine, Alli, Meridia, with a natural diet pill such as Diet Rx diet pill. Unexpected side effects can occur when herbs and drugs are mixed together.

Q. Is it okay to take a hoodia pill the same day as Diet Rx?
   A. Only if you limit your dosage of Diet Rx to one or two capsules.

Combining Diet Rx with SSRI drugs or medications used for depression:
Q. I know you recommend speaking to a physician prior to taking Diet Rx diet pill if taking a prescription drug for depression. I know all individuals react differently to meds. and supplements but can you provide general guidelines?
   A. Yes, you are right. Everyone reacts slightly, moderately, or sometimes significantly differently to the same medication or a combination of medications and herbal products. As a general rule, we suggest starting with one capsule of Diet Rx for those taking a SSRI antidepressant drug. After a couple of days one can increase to two Diet Rx pills. At this time, it may be a good idea to reduce the SSRI dosage since Diet Rx has some mood stabilizing properties. This is a general guideline that you can discuss with your doctor who will make the final decision as to whether Diet Rx diet pill is appropriate for you, and if it is, how to manage your dosage of the antidepressant drug while taking this natural diet pill.

SSRI drugs include:
Citalopram (Celexa)
Escitalopram oxalate (Lexapro)
Fluoxetine (Prozac)
Fluvoxamine maleate (Luvox)
Paroxetine (Paxil)
Sertraline (Zoloft)
When using any of the SSRI antidepressant drugs with Diet Rx diet pill, consider starting with one capsule of Diet Rx your first time, and when you increase the dosage of Diet Rx to two capsules, we suggest you lower the SSRI drug dosage by about 10 to 30 percent, or more. Your doctor needs to approve this change.

Tips for improved health and healthy weight control
1. Drink a glass or two of cool or cold water when you wake up to help rehydrate and stimulate peristalsis to clear your colon.
2. Do 10 to 30 situps a few times a day
3. Do 5 to 10 pushups a few times a day.
4. Take at least a 20 minute to 30 minute walk each day.
5. Drink water flavored with stevia as a substitute for sugar-laden sodas or fluids. You can mix lime-flavored stevia drink packet in 2 pints of water.
6. If you tend to overeat at night to help you fall asleep, consider the occasional use of Good Night Rx one to three hours before bed.
7. Do not buy icecream, chocolate, pastries, or other calorie dense foods. If they are in the house, you are likely to eat them. Rather, have a number of fresh fruits and vegetables in the kitchen and you can munch on them.

Combining Diet Rx with statin drugs, Lipitor, Zocor
Q. Recently my doctor recommended that I take Diet Rx appetite suppressant pills.  Is Diet Rx ok to take while on Lipitor or other statin drugs used for cholesterol lowering?
    A. When considering interactions between medications and supplements, one has to look at many factors including dosage, overall health of the patient, other medications used, age, activity level, diet, alcohol use, and many other factors that influence a person's overall health and medical status. Diet Rx can help curb appetite thus reducing food intake. It is possible that the required dosage of Lipitor, Zocor, or other statin drugs used for cholesterol lowering may be less since cholesterol levels are influenced by the type and amount of food ingested. We can't be any more specific since each person's response may be different. You and your doctor would have to make the final decision.

Diet Rx testimonials
Diet Rx definitely works, but not consistently. I wonder if it is due to what I eat with breakfast and how well it gets absorbed or not.
Comments: Diet Rx works best when taken on an empty stomach at least 45 minutes before breakfast. Some people do well on one capsule a day, others require two or three, and a few people may need four capsules a day split into 2 before breakfast and 2 before lunch.
