As a Vegan or Vegetarian, are you getting all the nutrients for optimal health?
According to respected and world renowned nutrition expert Ray Sahelian, M.D., some vegetarians may not be getting the appropriate amount of certain nutrients. This is what Dr. Sahelian says on his website, "If you have a vegetarian diet or lifestyle, you are probably getting lots of important carotenoids, flavonoids, fiber, vitamins, minerals, and other beneficial nutrients. However, as a vegetarian or vegan, it is possible that even with a good diet, you may still be missing some key nutrients. Nutrients that are found in very small amounts in a plant based diet and could possibly be beneficial as supplements for vegetarians, particularly vegans, include:

(Note: some of these supplements may be in a gelatin capsule. With time we plan to have them in a veggie capsule format).

Vitamin-B12
Carnitine 500
CoQ10-50mg
Creatine
EPA and DHA are highly unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids that are mostly found in Fish-Oils. Alternatively, Flaxseed-Oil could be a partial substitute. DHA is available from algae.

Even if you take these a few times a week, you may notice some benefits with energy and mood enhancement.

Questions about vegetarian supplements and gelatin
You state on your page about vegetarian supplements that an option for vegans is to open a gelatin capsule and consume the contents, so as not to have to consume the capsule. Please understand that veganism is an ethical
philosophy, so that BUYING the capsule is more a problem than putting it in one's mouth. The animal the capsule was made from suffered just as much, and is just as dead, no matter what we do with the capsule after buying it.

I was reading on one of the web pages where it said vegetarians can open a gelatin capsule and empty the contents into water. Vegetarians do not purchase products made with the parts of dead animals. So, a vegetarian would not purchase a gelatin capsule product and if they did, they would never take it out of the capsule where the product has touched the gelatin and put it in water.
Not all vegetarians and vegans are the same. Some are quite strict while others are vegetarian only for health reasons and don't mind ingesting an occasional capsule from gelatin or opening a gelatin capsule and only using the contents. It would be simplistic to put all vegetarians and vegans in one category and to speak for all them as if they all had exactly the same viewpoint on this topic.
I see your point, this may be helfpul: There's a difference between vegans and "dietary vegans," also called "total vegetarians."  The word "vegan," unmodified, refers by definition to people who would avoid gelatin capsules and all other animal products. "Vegans" who would be okay with buying gelatin capsules are accurately described as dietary vegans. Vegetarians could, as you say, go either way.
