Taurine is a Dietary Supplement often added to energy drinks

Taurine is a crystalline, free-form amino acid. Taurine is a soothing, inhibitory neurotransmitter and plays a major role in stabilizing the heartbeat and electrical activity of the nerves. Taurine is also necessary for the proper functioning of the "sodium/potassium ATP-ase pump", which regulates the ion balance between the cells and the extra cellular fluid that surrounds them. *

Taurine supplement questions
Q. Which amino acid is more consistent in providing better sleep, taurine or theanine?
   A. In our opinion, theanine is more consistent in sleep induction and maintenance. Good Night Rx works better than taurine or theanine alone.

Q. Can a taurine supplement be taken along with Good Night Rx?
   A. We suggest you first try taurine and Good Night Rx on separate nights before combining.

Q. What is the right taurine dosage for daily use? I also have a taurine energy drink daily.
   A. Little taurine research is available to determine the right taurine dosage. As a general rule we suggest not taking more than 2 taurine pills a day. Take two days off a week. As far as the taurine energy drink, it depends on the taurine dosage found in the energy drink. These energy drinks often contain other ingredients such as caffeine, guarana, and other stimulant ingredients.

Q. What do you think of taurine and caffeine supplements together?
   A. We are not big fans of caffeine suppplements. Caffeine can cause anxiety and restlessness.
