Q. Does terminalia arjuna have side effects?
   A. We have not come across any studies that have pointed out arjuna side effects. However, just because studies have not mentioned this, it does not mean that arjuna herb is totally free of side effects.

Q. What's the right dosage of arjuna herb for long term use?
   A. Since human studies in Western countries with arjuna herb are quite limited, we don't have a good idea how long arjuna should be taken without a break. To be on the safe side, it would be a good idea to be off arjuna herb one or two days a week, and one week per month.

Q. Can arjuna herb supplement be combined safely with stating drugs used for cholesterol or heart medications?
   A. These are good questions but, unfortunately, adequate research is not available with arjuna herb and various prescription medications to know what kind of interactions would occur.

Q. I read in a magazine article that arjuna herb can help dilate blood vessels. Does this mean arjuna herb or extract is helpful for high blood pressure control?
   A. As of November 2008 we have not seen any human studies regarding the role of arjuna bark extract in the treatment of hypertension. See hypertension for lifestyle and dietary changes that may help.
