Pau D' Arco (Tabebuia altissima) is the inner bark of the Purple Lapacho tree found in Brazil and Northern Argentina. Ever since ancient times, when it was a standard for the medicine men of the Inca Empire, pau d'arco (also known as ipe roxo and taheebo) has been one of the most widely used herbs in South America. Pau Darco's popularity is attributed to the active constituent, lapachol.

Q. Has there been human research regarding interactions between glucosamine supplements and pau darco supplements? Is it okay to take a pau d'arco supplement along with Joint Power Rx?
   A. Not that we are aware of. Glucosamine is a safe supplement and should not interfere with pau d'arco pills. As to Joint Power Rx pills, we suggest you first try this product by itself for a week, then try a pau d'arco pill by iself daily for a week and if no problems you may consider combining them if your doctor approves.
