Docosahexaenoic acid, DHA Neuromins 100 mg, is a Dietary Supplement from algae.

Docosahexaenoic acid DHA Neuromins is derived from algae, not fish or fish oil, hence it is a vegetarian source. Docosahexaenoic acid DHA is an omega-3 fatty acid which plays a role in cerebral development, especially during the crucial period of fetal development and infancy. Pregnant mothers transfer DHA directly to the fetus to support rapid brain and retina development. DHA is supplied to the newborn via mother's breast milk. Some people have lower concentrations of DHA due to low-fat or vegetarian diets.

DHA supplement questions
Q. Can a DHA supplement be used by children?
   A. Yes, as long as the dosage is limited to one or two capsules a day. We also carry a Children's DHA formula product.

Q. Do I need to take more vitamin E if I'm taking a DHA supplement?
   A. Most likely yes, but only small amounts are needed. Since DHA is a highly unsaturated fatty acid, it would seem cautious to supplement with at least 5 to 10 units of vitamin E a day if you're taking a gram or more of an epa dha combination. This small amount of vitamin E can be found in almost all multivitamin supplements.

Q. I have been looking into using EPA and DHA, but am looking for a purely vegetarian source. I have found vegetarian DHA supplements are much more available than EPA supplements. I see in fact that there is a vegetarian DHA supplement, but not an EPA supplement. Is the DHA supplement sufficient, without another supplemental or major dietary source of EPA?
     A. We feel using both EPA and DHA is preferable than just using DHA Neuromins by itself, although there may be people who do just fine taking DHA Neuromins by itself.
