Fennel herb is a Dietary Supplement

Fennel herb (Foeniculum vulgare) is of the carrot family. Fennel seeds are aromatic  and cultivated for both culinary and herbal uses. Fennel seeds have a licorice-like taste and are offered at the end of a meal in Asia and in South America to freshen the breath and aid digestion. Practically every part of the fennel plant can be eaten.

Fennel seed and plant information
Many substances have been identified in fennel plant including estragole, hydroxycinnamic acid derivatives, flavonoid glycosides and flavonoid aglycons. Additonal compounds in fennel include quercetin, rosmarinic acid, kaempferol and caffeoylquinic acid.

Q. Can fennel tea be consumed daily? Is fennel herb safe to take regularly for prolonged periods?
   A. We are not aware of any long term human studies with fennel herb or fennel supplements, but fennel herb and various parts of the plant have historically been consumed regularly for centuries and no serious fennel side effects have been reported in the medical literature.

Q. Is it okay to take a fennel supplement along with MultiVit Rx multivitamin?
   A. We don't seen any problems combining a fennel supplement with a multivitamin product.
