Muira puama, also called "potency wood," is a small tree up to 15 feet in height native to the Brazilian Amazon. The bark and roots are the primary parts of muira puama that are utilized. Indigenous peoples have used muira puama for many centuries. Muira puama's botanical name is Ptychopetalum olacoides. Don't be surprised to see muira puama spelled in many different ways, including mara puama, marapuama and marapama. This product contains the full spectrum of substances within the muira puama bark.

Q. Does muira puama herb have side effects?
   A. Almost every herb, when used in high doses, can cause side effects. In the case of muira puama, the most common side effect on 2 capsules or more is shallow sleep or early morning awakening.

Q. Before I buy this herb, I would like to know Is it okay to combine muira puama with catuabe or other sex herbs?
   A. It is always a good idea to first learn how each herb influences you by itself and the right dosage that works for you. Once you know how each herb works for you, then you can combine them, reducing the dosage of each by half so as not to overdose.

Q. Can muira puama herb be taken the same day as Passion Rx?

   A. Much depends on the dosage used and the extract potency. Generally tongkat ali is quite potent, and so is yohimbe. Tribulus terrestris, catuaba, mucuna pruriens, and muira puama are similar in potency but keep in mind that they each work in different ways. Some people respond better to one herb than another. I just placed an order for this product. But some things I read seems to point to the fact that this is a product geared more towards men. Is this true? I would not want to take anything for a woman that is of benefit for a male only.
