Cayenne pepper is a Dietary Supplement. Capsaicin and dihydrocapsaicin are two main bio-active components of Capsicum frutescens and are widely used as food additives and herbal supplements. Cayenne Pepper supplement is a hot plant herb preferably taken in capsules with meals. If you wish to buy hot plants for sexual enhancement, consider tongkat ali, tribulus terrestris, maca, and mucuna pruriens.

Information
Cayenne pepper contains carotenoids and capsaicinoids. A large number of varieties of cayenne pepper are widely cultivated and traded. The characteristic carotenoids of the bright red paprika and cayenne-type chillies, the methoxy pyrazine of green bell capsicum, the esters of ripe tabasco, and the capsaicinoids of African and other Asian varieties of chillies, have been of great interest to chemists and biochemists.

Cayenne Pepper Fruit (Capsicum annuum) is a warming herb.

Study
Assessment of capsiconinoid composition, nonpungent capsaicinoid analogues, in capsicum cultivars.
J Agric Food Chem. 2009. Graduate School of Agriculture, Kyoto University, Kitashirakawa, Kyoto, Japan.
Capsiconinoid is a group of nonpungent capsaicinoid analogues produced in Capsicum or cayenne fruits. Capsiconinoids have agonist activity for transient receptor potential vanilloid type 1 (TRPV1), which is reported to be a receptor for capsaicin. It is, therefore, important to screen cultivars containing high levels of capsiconinoid for their use as a vegetable or dietary supplement. This study describes the quantitative analysis of capsiconinoid content in fruits of 35 cayenne cultivars: 18 cultivars of C. annuum, 7 of C. baccatum, 5 of C. chinense, 4 of C. frutescens, and 1 of C. pubescens. We found that 10 cultivars contained capsiconinoids. Capsiconinoid Baccatum showed the highest capsiconinoid content and Charapita (C. chinense) had the second highest content.

Suggested Use: As an herbal dietary supplement, take 1 cayenne capsule once or twice daily, preferably with meals.
